Buttter ("the app") is operated by Denys Rumiantsev, an individual developer ("we", "us"). This policy explains what information the app collects, how it is used, and your choices. Questions? Contact support@buttter.app.

Information We Collect

• Account information. When you sign in with Apple, we receive your name and email address. Apple may provide a private relay email instead of your real address. We create a user account and issue session tokens to keep you signed in.
• Content you create. Recipes, cookbooks, cooking and dietary preferences you set, and any photos or links/URLs you submit (for example a pantry photo or a recipe link you import from).
• Usage and diagnostic data. See "Analytics" below.

AI Processing

To extract, analyze, or generate recipes, the recipes, links, and photos you submit are transmitted to and processed by third-party AI service providers acting on our behalf. These providers process your content only to deliver the requested result.

Analytics

We use a third-party product-analytics provider (PostHog) to understand how the app is used and to improve it. We collect:

• Feature-interaction and screen-view events;
• Session replays in which text and input fields are automatically masked;
• App version, device model and operating-system version;
• Coarse diagnostics and error reports.

We do not send recipe text, ingredient names, cookbook contents, your name or email address, or the contents of your photos to analytics. Analytics events contain only opaque identifiers, counts, durations, and similar non-identifying values.

Subscriptions

Subscription purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store. We do not receive or store your payment details — only your subscription status and expiry so we can unlock premium features.

How We Use Your Information

• To provide and operate the app and its AI features;
• To maintain your account and keep you signed in;
• To improve the product and fix problems;
• To protect against abuse and to comply with legal obligations.

How Your Information Is Shared

We share data only with service providers that process it on our behalf — by category: cloud hosting and storage, AI processing, product analytics, and Apple (for sign-in and payments). We do not sell your personal data.

Data Retention

We keep your information while your account is active. When you delete your account, we delete or anonymize your personal data, except where we are required to retain it to comply with the law.

Your Rights

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data by emailing support@buttter.app. Depending on your location, additional rights may apply.

Children

Buttter is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country), and we do not knowingly collect their data.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above.
